Polish Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies
The annual meeting of the Executive Committee and the ISECS conference in Warsawon 8-11 July 2026
From 8 to 11 July 2026, Warsaw will host two events of great importance to the Polish Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies: the annual meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ISECS) and the ISECS conference on the theme ‘Changing perceptions of Eastern and Northern Europe in the 18th century’ (the conference will take place at the Museum of Polish History on 10 July 2026, starting at 10.00). Both events will be attended by several dozen delegates from national societies around the world, as well as members of the ISECS Executive Committee. This will be the second meeting of the Executive Committee in Warsaw in the history of our Society – the first took place in 2002.
This year’s events will be made possible thanks to the support and commitment of the co-organisers: PTBnWO, the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw, the Museum of Polish History and the Polish Library Institute in Paris. Guests from abroad will have the opportunity to explore the capital’s most important landmarks thanks to the kind cooperation of our trusted partners: the Royal Castle in Warsaw and the Royal Łazienki Museum.
